Cindy McKean, MD, MPH, MBA, is an internationally recognized astrologer, educator, and researcher specializing in AstroMapping and locational astrology. Her work brings together astronomy, geography, symbolism, practical experience, and a lifelong curiosity about the ways places shape our lives.

 

Cindy created the most comprehensive AstroMapping curriculum in the world. Her reputation has grown from the substance of her work, not from cultivating visibility for its own sake. She lives in real life, not in a curated presentation online. Her perspective has been shaped through decades of scholarship, research, teaching, travel, client work, and lived experience. She values depth over performance, intellectual honesty over smoke-and-mirror deception, and meaningful engagement over whatever happens to be favored by an algorithm. What she shares is grounded in sustained study, careful observation, and real encounters with people and places around the world.

Before becoming a full-time astrologer, Cindy was a physician and clinical research director at Weill Cornell Medical College. Her research career included work with the World Health Organization, the United Nations, Mount Sinai Medical Center, Hunter College at City University of New York, University of Cairo Egypt, University of Cologne Germany, and Weill Cornell University. That background continues to influence the thoughtful, investigative, and grounded approach she brings to astrology.

Being multilingual, and having lived and worked in eight countries in four different continents, Cindy understands our relationships with places as more than points and lines on a map. She has developed and taught extensive curricula in AstroCartoGraphy, Local Space, geodetics, and the astronomical foundations of AstroMapping. Outside of AstroMapping, Cindy is a skilled practitioner in tarot, palmistry, mediumship, and dowsing.

 

She is a seasoned teacher and speaker having  spoken and taught students internationally through Kepler College, ISAR, NCGR, Nodoor Astrology School in China, ISAR, NCGR, OPA, the United Astrology Conference and her own private and exclusive classes.
